Enigma M4 Message Breaking Project
The M4 Project is attempting to use distributed computing to decrypt three German Enigma
messages intercepted in the North Atlantic in 1942. It is believed that the Allies never
decoded the messages. The first messages from U-264 was broken in February 2006 and the second
message from U-623 in March 2006. Both messages are routine U-boat communications.
