Maj. Gen. Charles L. Bolte (1895-1989)
May 1943 - September 1944. During WWI, Gen. Bolte served with the 4th Infantry Division. Subsequently, Gen. Bolte commanded the 34th Infantry Division. After WWII, Gen. Bolte served in a number of posts including commander of Seventh Army in West Germany and Army Commander-in-Chief in Europe. Gen. Bolte died in 1989 and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
Maj. Gen. Emil F. Reinhardt (1888-1969)
September 1944 - August 1945. Gen. Reinhardt graduated from West Point in 1910. Gen. Reinhardt had formerly commanded the 76th Infantry Division. Gen. Reinhardt returned to the U.S. in 1945 and retired from the army in 1946.
Brig. Gen. Robert V. Maraist
August 1945 - Inactivation. Gen. Maraist had formerly served as division artillery commander. Gen. Maraist later served as Director of New Orleans Civil Defense.
